Entertainment

Yes, the Japanese people work hard, but the sight of the suit-clad salaryman passed out on the street should be evidence enough that they play hard as well. Whether you want to take in some traditional kabuki theater, chat up the locals at your neighborhood watering hole, participate in an ancient festival, or check out your favorite band at a tiny live house, there's no shortage of things to keep you happy. Go to the countryside to get a taste of “real” (read: traditional) Japanese entertainment, then hop to the city for all-night partying. Boredom in this country must be synonomous with laziness.
